About

Dina El-Zeneiny is a multidisciplinary artist, filmmaker, and photographer from Cairo, Egypt, currently based between Cairo and Berlin. She is pursuing a master's degree in directing documentaries at Film University Babelsberg in Potsdam. Her work ranges from experimental and abstract personal projects to those exploring social and cultural identity, drawing inspiration from her daily life in Cairo.

Currently, she is focused on her short documentary "Embers of Love" and is developing her first short fiction, "Border Ping Pong", which won the WoS Fabrique funding in 2024. Her films have been screened at film festivals in Cairo and Ismailia, with her film "I Would Rather Stay Silent" receiving an honorable mention at the Ismailia International Film Festival in 2020.

In addition to her film pursuits, Zeneiny explores various mediums to express herself, including painting, scanning, sculpting, sound production, and design. She seeks to reflect on the influences of patriarchy on the Egyptian female identity.
